This historical goal ended Boston’s 29-year Stanley Cup drought and became one of the most well-known goals scored in all of hockey. With Bobby’s body flying high through the air, the silhouette of him celebrating has become part of his record-breaking legacy. As the only NHL defensemen to have nine hat tricks in his career, Bobby Orr set the single season record in 1970-71 for the most assists (102), points (139) and rating (plus 124) by a blueliner.
