Sidney Crosby used this stick on November 16, 2021 as the Pittsburgh Penguins hosted the Buffalo Sabres at PPG Paints Arena. Captain Crosby assisted on Jake Guentzel's third period goal and played 18:53 in the 2-1 loss to Buffalo.
During the 2021-22 season, Crosby finished tied for the team lead with 84 points (31g, 53a) and had a career-high nine game-winning goals in 69 games. His 1.22 point per game average was the 17th consecutive season that he averaged over one point per game. Only Wayne Gretzky (19) began his career with more consecutive point-per-game seasons and Gordie Howe is tied with Crosby at 17.
Crosby also hit the 30-goal plateau for the 10th time in his illustrious career, joining Mario Lemieux (11) and Jaromir Jagr (10) as the only players in team history to score 30+ goals 10 or more times with the team. His team-leading 84 points marked the 12th time in his career that he's led the Penguins in scoring, surpassing Mario Lemieux (11) for the most such instances in franchise history.
